 MISTAKING MIRRORS


The sky is so empty
like I’m told to be.

The problem is
I can’t sit still:

a child bored
by the beach.

And when I’m empty
I echo, and it hurts –

that’s something,
a thing:

one bird breaks
the whole sky.
