Irene, 

   Would it help to change the name of the button to "Telnet?" 

   The link on the old home page said "Login (telnet)" and the
new one says "Login" because that's what you first see on the
screen. The screen says "Login: ", and then "Password:". The
Seattle Public Library has a Telnet button on their systems. But
many others don't. How common is an understanding of the Unix
term "telnet" among our users?
